Halloween Fun Run
Start date: Sept. 9---Oct. 28
Rate: $80 / $10 per class
Time: 4:15---5:15
Dress according to weather. Please note that your child does not need to run races in order to participate in this run training. Focus is on fun and participation. No run experience needed. All ages of kids are welcome.
Class format: 40 minutes of running and running games.
Saturday Indoor Long Rides 2---5 pm
Start date: Sat. Oct.17---Dec.19
Pre-registered rate: $200 / $ 20 per ride
Drop-in rate: $22
This class is designed for road riders, Ride to Conquer Cancer participants, athletic cross-training, and people wanting a great weekly challenge. Participants are encouraged to work within their own level of comfort. No previous riding experience needed; all are welcome. We will begin long rides at 2 hours, and after a few weeks add 15 minutes until we reach 3 hours. At that point, rides will remain 3 hours in length until the outdoor season begins.
Please bring liquid that you drink, nutrition and a towel. Room accommodates 18 spin bikes(健身車).
Family Fun Fit Private Coaching
Learn with Christina Kaufmann. Family Fun Fit’s Private Coaching Service begins with a one-hour face-to-face meeting where we map out where you are and where you wish to be. Next, Christina creates a personalized training program and schedule that will systematically train you and encourage you to achieve your desired goal.
Clients(顧客) have the access to the coach via email or phone. Christina’s past clients have successfully achieved their goals.
This service is ongoing(進行中). Cost is $150 per month.

The meaning of the word “volunteer ” may be a little different in different countries, but it usually means “one who offers his or her services.” There are many different ways in which people can volunteer, such as taking care of sick people, working in homes for homeless children, and picking up garbage(垃圾) from beaches and parks. Volunteers may work within their own countries or in other countries. They are often people with a strong wish to help those who are less fortunate than themselves. Volunteers don’t expect any kind of pay.
At the root of volunteering is the idea that one person may have the ability to offer services that can help other people. Tracy, a good friend of mine, however, recently came back from India with a new idea of what being a volunteer means. She worked for two and a half weeks in one of Mother Teresa’s homes in Calcutta. The following is her story.
“I first heard about Mother Teresa in my high school, we watched a video(錄像) about her work in India and all over the world. I was so moved by her spirit to help others and her endless love for every human being that after I graduated from high school, I too wanted to try her kind of work. So with two friends I flew to Calcutta for a few weeks.”
“I was asked to work in a home for sick people. I helped wash clothes and sheets, and pass out lunch. I also fed the people who were too weak to feed themselves and tried to cheer the up. I felt it was better to share with them than to think that I have helped them. To be honest, I don’t think I was helping very much. It was then that I realized that I had not really come to help, but to learn about and experience another culture(文化) that helped improve my own understanding of life and the world.”

Welcome to my hometown which is located on the Bohai Bay. It is very beautiful! Living here makes you feel quite good. Miles of beaches stretch along the coast. For the next couple of years, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s second largest city, will grab the world’s attention. It will host the World Cup in 2014 and two years later, the Olympics. For the first time in their 120 years, the Olympic Games will be held in South America when they come to Brazil.
Of course, no Brazilian celebration is complete without the samba. The most traditional dance of the country stands out every February at the Rio Carnival, which is one of the world’s biggest.
“Brazil has left its second-class nation status,” former Brazilian President said in 2009 after Rio was awarded the 2016 Olympics. “Brazil’s growing economy, supported by oil and aircraft factories, has made it more than a nation of samba and the beaches and the emotional soul of soccer.”
