The House with Golden Windows
Mary lived in a small, poor house on a hill. When she was young, 1 would play in the small garden. There she was able to 2 a wonderful house high on the other hill – and this house had golden windows, so shining that the little girl would 3 of how fantastic it would be to live in a house with golden windows instead of a common house 4 hers. Though she loved her parents, she still dreamed all day about how exciting it 5 feel to live there.
One day, she asked her mother if she could go for a bike ride outside. Her mother finally 6 her to go. The day was beautiful and she knew exactly 7 she was going! She rode her bike until she got near to the gate of the golden house across on the other hill. Studies show that people feel good when they spend their time helping others. If you want to feel happier, do good things for someone. You can help a friend with his or her studies, go shopping to buy food for an elderly person, or simply help out around the house by washing the dishes.
