Just when the dog rushed towards (朝) one of the little girls with its mouth widely open，Miss Green ran to the dog quickly and thrust (插，塞) her right hand into the dog's mouth. It bit(咬)her badly，but she kept her hand there until the man came near and shot(射擊)the animal dead．
Several days later Miss Green died．She gave up her own life to save the lives of the children.
